Anna Lukala was born in Helsinki, Finland, but grew up on Kimito Island in the Southwest Archipelago.
She initially came to the UK to study photography and graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in photography,
from the University of Wolverhampton in 1997. Since then she's been living and working first in Finland and later
moving permanently to the UK to work as a photographer.
Lover of the outdoors, nature and the built environment, her photography style is often seen as natural and authentic with a storytelling element. With her editorial background, the narrative and documentary style is still a big influence and fundamental in her shooting style.
Anna currently lives in Westcliff on Sea, Essex and works on lifestyle, advertising, and portrait commissions for a wide variety of clients and publications in the UK and abroad. She is keen to keep expanding on her own style with photographing personal projects and collaborating with other creatives.
Anna was previously employed as a photojournalist for the Echo Newspapers covering South East Essex from 2004-2015.
