artist statement
I am a research based artist and the central themes of my practice are alternative and historic photographic
processes, sustainable explorations, the commons, material culture, botanical and
mineral colours, working in reciprocity with the environment.
My current work draws inspiration from the natural world and engages with the topics of
sustainability, environment, slow movement, wellbeing, research into historical pigments,
the revival of cultural traditions. It centres around, women labourers, identity and history.
In my practice, I use digital and analogue still and film photography, sustainably harvested local plants, minerals, inks, dyes and textiles.
