The past year and a half I have been looking at sustainability within my own arts practice and taking inspiration from folk traditions and cultural material practices and the use of natural colours. This has extended to my photographic work, by using a seaweed developer to hand develop the medium format black & white film. I collect stranded seaweed mindfully from local beaches without tugging any plant material attached to rocks.
This is one way to make a more sustainable choice for harsh commercial film developer.
The prints are printed with a business that is end-to-end carbon neutral.
Prints are shipped once a week to minimise having to go to a post office during the pandemic. If you live locally to me collection is also an option.
